While engaging in their on and off censorship of myself for posting Christian songs and Bible studies to groups appearing on my news feed because they ACCEPTED ME as a member of those groups and pages, Facebook allows “get rich quick” type spams and such like.
Far worse Facebook IGNORES their on Terms of Service and allows islamic hate sites against Israel, some with Names that contain the “F” word. For example, as I write this there is a group called “we can destroy israel” which has been reported to Facebook but remains.
Another group named F*** You ISRAEL!!! (without the stars I graciously supply here) has 2,333 members and still exists with no admin after being repeatedly reported to Facebook. There wall has a balanced mix of hate posts against Jews AND get rich quick spams.

Update 10/24/2010 I was blocked by Facebook from sending a private communication to a group that I admin on Facebook. I am not sure what content of the Bible study that they deemed “abusive content”. I have also been experiencing other blocks and censorship by Facebook. I am becoming convinced that a lawsuit against Facebook would make the online world a better place.

Update 12/18/2010 I was blocked from commenting on a post on a group that I am a member of. Apparently if a handful of people disagree with someone then they can get Facebook to block them by filing frivolous reports. That is not how it is supposed to work. If a group owner does not like someone they can simply remove them from THEIR group and delete anything they don’t like. Facebook is engaging in blatant censorship and harassment. It appears that a lawsuit will be necessary to clean up Facebook.

Update 12/19/2010 I have again experienced Facebook censorship in some groups that I was a member of where they labeled valid content as “abusive”. I believe that the case could be made due to Facebook’s advertising and encouraging of individuals to build upon their foundation, ie to invest their time (and money in many cases) and the scope of Facebook’s success in monopoly that a fiduciary duty exists between Facebook and its users or principals. The ongoing Facebook harassment and censorship could rise to the level of a violation of that legal responsibility.

Even if the Facebook religious and political censorship is an automated result of people falsely “reporting” views they disagree with as “abusive”, Facebook is still responsible for what they unleash upon their customers. Incompetence and laziness are no excuse for Facebook’s failure as a fiduciary to those who believed their advertising and built upon their foundation thereby making Facebook rich and powerful. The Facebook censorship is getting worse. Today I was censored on my first attempt to make a valid reply to a news posting. The fake account is still active several hours now after being reported to Facebook. If I file a criminal complaint I will be naming Facebook as a criminal accessory.

Wow, didn’t expect to stumble upon your page. I am looking up ‘FB Censorship’ because a Christian friend of mine said just moments ago under our Prayer Event page, that her friend saw a pop-up of an FB censorship warning about my friend, appearing on her friend’s FB, and it showed that since my friend tried to post something about Christianity or something against Obama, that she can be reported. I hope this made sense.
